The Compass Rose Society was established in 1997 so that individuals, parishes, dioceses, provinces, and organizations throughout the world could help provide much-needed financial support for the work of the Anglican Communion.

At the invitation of our Primate, 20 members of the society are making a one-week visit to Brazil next month. The group arrives on Sunday, April 2 in Rio de Janeiro before travelling on to Belém do Pará later in the week. In our diocese the group will visit the Anglican School at Araras, parts of the Região Serrana affected by the floods and Cidade de Deus.

On Wednesday, April 6 there will be a diocesan reception at 7.30pm in the Cathedral of the Redeemer in Tijuca at which the Revd. Canon Kenneth Kearon, General Secretary of the Anglican Communion will talk about the life of the Communion today and answer questions. I ask you to do everything possible to attend, together with members of your community, so that we can present a true picture of the life of our diocese to our visitors.
